Teen Volunteers

There are currently no teen volunteer positions available. For other volunteer opportunities, check out information about our Teen Library Advisory Board.

Teen Volunteers earn community service hours and gain job experience by assisting library staff and helping to make the library a better place. To be eligible, teens must be between the ages of 13-18, fill out a volunteer application, and complete a short interview.

What do teen volunteers do?

  • Work at children’s and teens’ summer reading prize desk during the summer
  • Prepare storytime and club craft projects and handouts
  • Help with storytimes and other Children’s Department events
  • Straighten and dust shelves in the Children’s and YA areas
  • Help keep the Children’s Room and Young Adult areas looking neat
  • Perform other tasks assigned by library staff
