Homebound Service
Homebound Delivery
Manhattan Public Library cardholders who are unable to come to the library due to a medical condition or disability are eligible for delivery of any MPL circulating books, audiobooks, and magazines directly to their residence. Home deliveries are made once a month on a predetermined schedule, and are arranged to best accommodate both the needs of the patron and the schedules of library staff. Twice monthly deliveries are possible by arrangement. All home deliveries are made by Adult Services librarians.
Selection Service
MPL cardholders who are homebound or have limited mobility may request, with 24-hours’ notice, that an Adult Services librarian select circulating books, audiobooks, or magazines for them, according to the patron’s specific request or based on their stated preferences. Pick-up, delivery, and return of the requested materials will be done by the requesting patron (if they are able) or by a friend, care provider, family member, or other person chosen by the patron.
Call the library at 785-776-4741 ext. 141 or 173, and ask to speak to an Adult Services librarian about Homebound Service; or contact us by email at refstaff@manhattan.lib.ks.us.
