Summer Reading

| Every June and July, the library hosts a Summer Reading program. All ages can participate, from babies to teens to grandparents. It's free to join, and readers can earn fun prizes, restaurant certificates, and free books as a reward for reading during the summer months. |

Starting June 1st, kids (birth through 6th grade) who participate in the "Dream Big!" summer reading program simply keep track of how much time they spend reading or listening to books being read to them. Kids or parents can log reading time online, or they can keep track on a colorful reading chart available from the library. In addition, kids and families can attend fun events, movies, storytimes, clubs, educational programs and more at the library all summer long. Everything is free! | |

PRIZES: Kids who read or listen to books for 250 minutes will recieve a free Vista ice cream cone coupon and a toy. Kids who reach the library's reading goal of 500 minutes will get to choose a free book and a restaurant coupon for a free meal. A bonus prize for kids who reach 1000 minutes includes a Superstar Reader bookmark and a second restaurant coupon. Remember, the last day to log reading time and pick up prizes is July 31st.
