Amazing Ancient Egypt Party Come to a party all about the amazing antiquities of ancient Egypt! Play the Egyptian game Senet and a Pass the Scarab game. Make a cartouche nametag with your name in hieroglyphics, and create your own Egyptian collar and cuffs. Suggested for kids in grades K-6. Stay for an exciting movie afterwards. Movie description: A new security guard has been hired at the Museum of Natural History. However, the job turns into an adventure when an ancient curse causes the "inhabitants" of the museum to come to life! Rated PG; 110 minutes. |

Stories on the Lawn Stories on the Lawn will be held on Saturdays in May at 11:00 on the Poyntz side lawn. Join us for a relaxed storytime on the grass, or bring a blanket or lawn chairs with you. Participants are invited to pack a lunch and snack during the storytime or stay afterwards to enjoy a picnic on the lawn. In case of bad weather, storytime will be held in the library auditorium. May 18 - "Fire Fighters to the Rescue!" - Stories read by a fireman, and get a close up look at a fire truck May 25 - "Holey Moley!" - Stories about moles and underground critters Summer storytimes and clubs will begin again on June 3.

R.E.A.D. with Dogs Children can sign up to read to a certified therapy dog for 15-20 minutes. The R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program gives kids the opportunity to practice and enjoy reading in a fun environment. Come read to the friendliest dogs around! |
